Specialists in EU and UK employment legislation, and EWC and ICE legislation and practice

European Study Group

ESG is the leading employers organisation for multinational companies.

We make sure our members' views are heard in Brussels and Whitehall on planned employment law, and look to influence the policy-makers as they develop legislation.

We provide members with early warning and advice on all EU and UK employment regulation. We also provide networking opportunities for multinational employers, and bespoke consulting with a particular specialism in European Works Councils and the UK Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations.

The European Commission has said "European Study Group has had more influence on the outcome of the European Works Council Directive in terms of substantial improvements than any government, trade union or other body."

Please use this site to find out more about us, see our Services and our Membership benefits, and decide whether membership is for you in a dedicated Employers’ Association.

Information and consultation

Legislation introduced in April 2005 (the "ICE Regulations") requires all employers to establish arrangements for informing and consulting employees on a range of business issues, when requested by employees. But it also incentivises employers to put new arrangements in place without waiting to be asked.

We have unrivalled expertise on the ICE Regulations, explaining how they can be used to set up information and consultation arrangements suited to the individual circumstances of your business. We have long-standing experience in employee relations and employee communication and engagement.

We offer a range of support services to add value to consultation arrangements and to help create employee participation and employee involvement. We work with employee representatives, employee consultation forums, works councils, staff consultation, team briefing, employee surveys.

LATEST NEWS ..... ESG has launched a website – www.just15.co.uk – aimed at companies in the 50 to 1000 employee range to help them comply quickly and easily with the Information and Consultation Regulations.
